VOLUNTEER ROLES
Gate Guard
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: Monitor incoming and outgoing personnel into encampment. After dark make sure women are not traveling alone (see Evening Escort below). If a non-member seeks to find a member within the encampment, direct a Gopher to find that person. Prevent non-garbed people from entering the encampment. Seek back-up from others if you feel you do not have the authority or ability to attend any concerns or problems that may arise while performing your duties.
Gopher
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: Work with gate guard(s) to find encampment people to greet their personal visitors at the gate. Keep pavilion area clean of trash as well as hay bale area between shows. Interact with passers by. Run food/drink for other volunteers if requested. Fill in other duties as required by Volunteer Coordinator. Seek back-up from others if you feel you do not have the authority or ability to attend any concerns or problems that may arise while performing your duties.
Security
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: Walk the outside perimeter of encampment; this is an all roped off area. If people are trying to crawl in/out, please send them to the main encampment gate. Greet mundanes passing by with good ay, huzzah, or other such greetings. Check with gate guard periodically to see if they need assistance. Walk all of the inside area of the encampment. Pick up trash along your route. Seek back-up from others if you feel you do not have the authority or ability to attend any concerns or problems that may arise while performing your duties.
Stage Manager
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: Help remind groups that their show time is coming up. Let performers know that their time is appreciated. Answer stereo questions. Take archive pictures of each troupe before or after performance.
Volunteer Coordinator Assistant - Filled!

Harker
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: Introduce shows, banter with passers-by, insult adults in front of their children, grift money from hapless saps, you know - the fun stuff.
Ice & Water Hauler
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: Bring the encampment its daily allotment of water and ice from Parks & Rec.
Port-a-Potty Catcher
Days: Friday and Saturday
Description: Stay awake and catch the pump truck at night (usually around 1am). Raise and drop the protective covers for easy access and coverage when done.
Park & Recreation Morning Meetings
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: Meet with Park & Rec every morning at 9am, and relay given information to the SSBD encampment during the morning meeting upon your return.
Parade
Days: Saturday and Sunday
Description: All encampment personnel not performing or doing basic encampment duties are to participate. Parade participants meet outside the main SSBD pavilion at 10am.
Evening Escort Services
Days: Evenings of Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Description: For safety reasons, women are not to be traveling alone after dark especially out to the parking lot! One man per woman or group of women is to escort the woman or women to their destination and back. If a man cannot be found, two women can serve as an escort.
